    HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA!!!

Birthday cake  HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA!  Birthday cake

    I couldn't resist, sorry.

I had a wonderful birthday in June.  My family surprised me with a shopping trip!  My Mom, Nicole, and sisters: Kim, Dee, and Debbi all took me shopping in the big city.  (After Tillamook, any city is Big! - LOL).  We had a great time and then we all went to dinner at Black Angus with our men and had way too much food.  It really was fun.  I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.  I also discovered a new drink; I tried a raspberry lemon drop martini.  It was delicious.  I need to learn now to make it myself.

It has been a slow start on the summer here but we finally got a few days of sunshine so we could play!

Zack and Nicole came down for a few days last week to visit and it was sunny!  What a score.  The coast is so much more fun in the sun.

I posted a few pictures, enjoy.  The visit was to short I really miss my girls.

    Have a Great Summer!

Its past time for an update!

Its way past time to put up a new post, so here goes!

We still have a few boxes in the corners but much less than before.  We found a severe lack of insulation in the back bedroom required a quick midnight move into the front bedroom.  The move was the only way to avoid frost bite on our ears and noses!    Wayne has since been working steady on a two stage attack to increase our median temperatures inside the house.  1st; block all the holes and areas where the cold air gets in and 2nd;  insulate, insulate, insulate!  We knew it was and old house when we bought it, so no surprise at the winter chill factor inside the house.

In our first winter here we survived the big costal wind storm of November.  We lost power for 5 days and lost most everything in the fridge and freezer.   Wayne was up all night just waiting for the large front window to give way and invite the storm inside for a spell.  We were lucky and did not have any significant damage here.  I took some photos and even posted one in a contest, http://contest.acdsee.com/?i=18669.  Check it out and vote for me if you like it! I've been running in with the top three photos for most of the week.   Mikie3 is my ID on that website.  Contest ends on Monday I think.  Camera  I'd sure like the new photo editing software prize!  I'll add some of the storm photos here as well so you can see some of the local damages.

    Well, gotta run for now.

    Leave me a note!  E-mail

Our New Home by the COWS!

    Hello Everyone,

Wayne and I are settling in the new house.  Boxes are still here and there but we are getting things organized slowly.  My job is going well and Wayne is enjoying the water.  The fish are not cooperating but he is spending a lot of time on the water and enjoying the sea.  We've had some family and friends come to visit, but the fish seem to be scarce for our visitors as well.  We have enjoyed a bit of crab on our salads though!

I found a wonderful quilt shop down town, (Jane's Fabric Patch
1110 Main St, phone: 503-842-9392, email: friends@janesfabricpatch.com). I hope to make myself at home there as soon as I get a sewing space set up in the house.  It is not easy to condense 12 years of "things" into a smaller space.  So far I haven't found a good spot for the sewing machine.

Please feel free to post a note, ask a question or just cruse our pages.  I'll be adding more as time goes on.

    Waves from the Coast!
